THE BIG ROOF: A COMMUNITY CENTRE IN BEIJING - 2015

The Big Roof translates the traditional Beijing Hutong atmosphere into a community centre. It is an acupuncture point of relief for the urban village, a gathering place for culture, learning, and play. The design paints the atmosphere via different filters to natural light; the green leaves, the terracotta walls, and the cast concrete roof.
