Cigdem is an architect registered in the Netherlands and Turkey with international experience in various stages of the design process across the fields of design, architecture, infrastructure, urbanism and landscape.

She has a distinguished educational background in architecture and urban design. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree with honours in Middle East Technical University in Turkey, she attended Graduation Studios as a teaching assistant and Dean’s assistant for a year. She moved to the Netherlands to acquire her master’s degree with distinction from the Technical University of Delft. She received several awards in architectural competitions during her education and the Huygens Scholarship for Excellence in Academic Studies from the Dutch Minister of Education, Culture and Science.

After her education, she worked in DP6 Architectuurstudio (NL), Grimshaw Architects and Weston Williamson + Partners where she was part of design teams for national and international projects from concept design to detailing, having dealt with complex design problems and significant buildings such as Koc Contemporary Art Museum, North London Waste Authority Heat and Power Station, Northern Line Battersea Power Station, Elizabeth Line Paddington Station and a masterplan working closely with interdisciplinary teams.

In 2016, she established her own company Studio Cigdem Sivri. Along with architectural design consultancy, Cigdem is pursuing research studies related to the artistic and architectural design process, its cognitive aspects, fundamentals of composition and order, essential elements for making, possible definitions that can be structured and derivatives with different parameters in design.
