Ivan holds a master’s degree in architecture with an emphasis on Emergent Technologies & Design from the Architectural Association (London). He has build-up his 10+ years career, working with international, multidisciplinary teams on developing a variety of projects that, successfully incorporate new technologies and research into architectural thought and Design. Among these are: the “España Library” (Colombia) at Mazzanti Arquitectos in 2005; the “Repsol Campus Headquarters” (Spain) at Rafa de la Hoz Arquitectos in 2008; “Eleftheria Square” (Cyprus) at Zaha Hadid Architects in 2009; the “Vessel” (New York) at Heatherwick Studio in 2014. In addition to the above Ivan has contributed to numerous award-winning international competitions such as the “Tongyeong Camp Mare” (South Korea) at Henn Architekten in 2018, and the “AIR TAXI VOLO-PORT for VOLOCOPTER” at GRAFT Architekten in 2019.

In addition to his experience working for renowned studios, Ivan takes part in architectural competitions and develops projects on his own, and since 2018 lectures and teaches a Design Studio and a Seminar Course for exchange students from the North China University of Technology (NCUT) at the Technische Universität (TU-B) in Berlin.

Incorporating systematic design and logics are part of Ivan’s architectural design approach. He is constantly looking into presenting ingenious solutions, innovative forms in architecture and new alternatives to programs while balancing the creative process with objective criteria driven from environmental, historical, functional and economic conditions specific to each project. He also has an interest in material explorations, complex geometries and the integration of biomimetic research.
